Five Places You Should Go To Meet Women

So you get tired of meeting women or striking out at the bar/club. Some of them don't even want to meet you there, because all they wanna do there is DANCE with their girlfriends. You try match.com and it's not really working out. Fear not, here's some fresh ideas on where you need to go to MEET (does not always mean to pick up) quality women and how to approach them.

5. Deli Meat Line

Back in the days, when I was younger and didn't know any better, I always do my grocery shopping on Sunday. The store is always packed. Then I always have to wait in line to get some deli meat; It takes forever...But somehow there are at least a couple of cute ladies waiting in line too. Definitely talk to them to get out of your boredom; It's much better than checking your phone every 30 seconds pretending you have some text. Don't forget, they're as bored as you waiting in line trying to get their meat.

4. Plant Nursery

Women love flowers, gardening, plants, etc. Plant nursery is definitely the place to go to meet women. If you are like me, you're probably clueless about plants, which make this place perfect to go to. You totally should ask questions about gardening to start a conversation. Most of the customers and store clerks are very knowledgeable about gardening. Ask them stuff like how often do you need to water a certain plant, how much sunlight does it need to get, where to plant them, etc. You could also ask about plants that are easy to maintain to be put in your house. This would make her thinks that you're different and more mature than other young males who got no plants in their house. See if they have Japanese Peace Lily (Yea, totally heard about this plant from the movie Hot Fuzz) and then ask if they're easy to maintain.

3. Dog Park

It's a common sense... women adore dogs. There's no dog park near where you live? Just walk to a nearby park. Don't have a dog? Borrow your friend's or neighbor's and walk their dog. You probably would see some familiar faces after the third time you went there, arrange a play-date for your dogs and a date for yourself.

2. Ikea

If you're in college, summer is the best time to go to Ikea. Why? Freshmen needs to furnish their dorm room, sophomores need to furnish their apartment/house for the fall before school started. I actually met an ex from Ikea.
If you're more mature, go to Home Sense. Pretty much the same as Ikea, but a lot of graduating seniors who actually got a job and can afford to move out of their parents house to rent an apartment/house go to Home Sense.

1. Sephora

I was walking around with one of my really good friend and she said she need something from Sephora (a cosmetic store). She said, she'll go later, but since we're there, I told her why not just go in there already? Guess what I found?! TONNES of GORGEOUS WOMEN. I was so shocked, not because of the amount of women I found there, but because of why I didn't think of going to this store before. What makes this place even more brilliant to go to is, there are barely any guys that go to this store. I LITERALLY saw two other guys in the store (one was gay and the other one was dragged by his girlfriend there), so you don't have any competition in that store. Don't be surprised by the amount of ladies checkin you out in the store. They'll probably trying to figure out whether you're gay or not...

You'd ask why would a single straight guy walk into a cosmetic store full of girls, right? Actually they have one wall that's dedicated for men's cologne, after shave, face product, and other stuff. Trust me on this one. Just go in, look for the men's section, go straight there, check out some cologne, then once there's a woman come close to you, ask her opinion on which cologne smells better, etc. Another reason to go to this store is that women loves men who take care of themselves and treat their body right; it shows them that if they take care of their body well, they will take care of her well too.

The bottom line is, it doesn't matter where you meet them. Just be confident and ask questions what do they think about some stuff. Women likes to talk, so make sure you listen to what they're saying instead of showing off what you do. Always be courteous and respectful when you approach them. Nobody wants to hang out with a rude and ill-mannered person.

p.s. The public transit is probably one of the worst places to meet women (No, I don't know this from experience).

Open Letter to Fans From Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Shortly after Lebron James announced his intent to sign with the Miami Heat starting the 2010-2011 season via an hour long announcement on ESPN, the Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert wrote this letter for the Cavs fans, slamming Lebron James.

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

Justifying Suarez' Handball

Luis Suarez became an overnight hero for Uruguay after he used his hands to kept the ball away from the goal line. Under regular circumstances, using your hand to control the ball movement in soccer is very frowned upon. If the referee caught you use your hand to control the ball, he would give you at least a yellow card and a free kick for the other team.

The score was tied at one between Uruguay and Ghana in the dying minutes of the 30 minutes of extra times. Ghana's offense bombarded the Uruguayans' penalty area. At one point, one of Ghana's players headed the ball and it looks like it was going to be in the net. However, Luis Suarez was right behind the goal line and used his hands to kept the ball away from passing the goal line. The referee saw this, gave Suarez a red card, sent him off the field, and gave Ghana a chance to score via penalty kick. Asamoah Gyan took the penalty kick, but he had a little too much power that sent the ball hit the top of the cross bar and missed the net. As soon as he missed, the ref blew the final whistle to end the game and proceeded to penalty shootout. Ghana lost 4-2 in the penalty shootout and that broke the heart of many Ghanaian supporters i.e. the whole continent of Africa. Watch the video below in reverse angle to see one of the most dramatic finish in the World Cup history.

A lot of people think Suarez cheated for using his hands to keep the ball away from the net. But he actually did not cheat. He committed a foul and got penalized for it. The ref did the right thing for sending Suarez off the game and gave Ghana the penalty kick. Let's look at it this way, if Suarez blatantly used his hand to control the ball in the 73rd minute, outside the penalty area, resulted in expulsion from the game and a free kick for Ghana, would you call that cheating? No, because that would be a very idiotic move by Suarez if he did that. Most people think it's cheating since the opposing team got eliminated because of that handball.

Suarez really got nothing to lose to use his hands to control the ball at that point of time. He knew the ball was going to go in the net if he did not knock the ball away with his hand. If the ball went in, there really was no time for Uruguay to score another goal to even things up and would make Uruguay got eliminated from the World Cup. By using his hands, not only he did not allow the ball to go in to the net, Suarez also created an opportunity for Uruguay's goal keeper to stop the ball from the penalty kick. If Ghana were to win the game and advances to the semi final, Suarez made it slightly harder for Ghana to win. It was not Suarez' fault that Asamoah Gyan did not score in that penalty kick. I would ask the question again, would you say Suarez cheated if Gyan scored the goal in that penalty and Ghana advances to the semi?

Suarez' handball was definitely one of the most brilliant & instinctive, yet controversial plays in the World Cup history. Because of his handball, Uruguay now would play the Netherlands in the semifinal. Even if they could not advance to the final, because Uruguay is missing a couple of key players including Suarez, they still have a chance to play and win for the third place spot; it is a much better accomplishment than getting eliminated in the quarter final.

5 Acts/Talents That Will Never Win America's Got Talent

I love watching America's got talent. Some people are really talented, some people are totally clueless about what a talent is, and some people are just attention whores. The winner of this contest will have a headline show in Vegas and $1 million dollar. Actually after further review, the winner does not really get $1 million as promised; They get a lot less. Click here for details.

One thing that irritate me about this show is the contestants. Before they go on audition, they should really think whether their "talent" is really worth for people to watch in a headline show in Las Vegas. A headline show in Vegas would last at least 45 minutes, so if your talent is only to do one particular thing and you can't improve much on it, you're only going to bore the audience in Vegas i.e. NOT going to win the show, don't even bother trying out. Sounds harsh? A little bit, but it's Vegas. Las Vegas is packed with people with talents coming from all over the world to perform and amazes other people from all over the world who comes to see them.

Here are some acts/talents that would never win America's Got Talent:

1. Tap Dancing.

Tap dancing is great and require a lot of effort, but it will never win AGT especially if the contestant is performing alone. It's just not Las Vegas material. Who would watch 45 minute of a one person doing a tap dance? Unless you're a tap-dance enthusiasts, you'd get bored after 13 minutes of tap-dancing MAX!

2. A Solo Juggling Act

So you're in Vegas, guess how many people in Las Vegas can juggle? LOTS!!! Don't even bother applying if you're just going to juggle a set of balls, pins, swords, cats, a chain saw on a unicycle. We've all seen that at Circus Circus.

3. A monotone magic show/ Old tricks

Same reason as number two. There are so many great magicians in Vegas, if you're going to perform the same old magic tricks like pulling stuff out of a hat, making a girl inside a box disappear/stab the box with swords then split the box into two, you're not going to win. You gotta be to at least almost as good as Criss Angel or David Blaine to win.

4. Dog agility show

Sure your dogs are cute, can catches discs, and jump through some loops, but people want to see YOUR talent, not your dogs' talent. It's true coaching these dogs require a lot of talent, but during the performance, the dog is the center piece of the act and people forget about you. Plus if people are really interested in watching dog catching discs and other stuff, the dog agility competition would get more coverage on TV.

5. Harmonica

I don't care how good you are at playing a harmonica or four harmonicas at a time, but after listening to two songs, I would most likely be done and get bored with it. A harmonica sounds almost as annoying as a Vuvuzela after a while.

Honorable mention:
Little kids performing anything.
These kids are the cutest, energetic, and very talented; waaaaaaay more talented than most of the older people auditioning for the show. However, they aren't gonna win the show (other than the first season winner) because they are too young to be performing a show in Las Vegas on a nightly or even fortnightly basis. They got school to go to the next morning, homework to do after school, studying for tests, and hanging out with friends. Just wait til they finish high school at least, and then try out.

That's all I can think of right now, if you want to audition, think whether people would like to pay money to see you perform for at least 45 minutes. Be honest and don't be bias about it, you're only wasting the judges' time if your talent is not Vegas worthy.

One thing I don't understand about some contestants: If their talent is singing, why don't they audition for American Idol? OR if their talent is dancing, why don't they audition for So You Think You Can Dance?

What's Your Web Browser?

I have four web browsers (IE8, Chrome, Opera, and FireFox) and I still weigh-in the pros and cons to use just one browser. I don't use Safari, because it's kind of too simple.

I mostly use Internet Explorer (and it's my default browser still) although it's the most sluggish among the four, to me, it has the nicest interface. I like IE's tabs, Google Toolbar integration make it easier to get images or finance quotes, web accelerators, and also somehow my anti virus (Mcafee) would tell me whether a site would likely give me viruses or not. It crash every now and then, but it usually restore the web that crashes quite nicely.

I don't like Firefox one bit. Most people use Firefox because their friends recommend it to them, because it's simply "better" than IE without knowing why it's better. It's a great open source browser where you can add a bunch of stuff into it (although I know a lot of people who don't know about this feature). The bad thing about Firefox is it takes a lot of your computer's memory, slowing you down if you're working on other things.

I love everything about chrome, but one thing: Chrome shares whatever you browse (EVERYTHING) on the internet with Google. Google know all about your likes and dislikes, banking info, facebook stuff, your online purchases, porn fetishes, etc. Sucks how they'd probably use all these data to "exploit" you somehow. Everything else is good. The user interface is very simple, making it browse whatever you wanna browse really quick. It's also an open source program, so you can add a bunch of stuff to enhance your browsing experience.

Opera is pretty much like Chrome in terms of speed (maybe a little faster) and basic interface. It doesn't share any of my browsing history with Google. Sounds great? Yes. However, for some reason it crash/not responding quite a bit for me. Opera is also an open source program, but I couldn't really find any good add-ons/gadgets/apps like the ones I got for my Chrome.

Back in university, I know like 20 hippies who always protest everything; starting from lowering tuition fee, not wanting to see corporations to fund the university, increasing T.A.'s wages (how do you expect to get a raise when you want to lower the university income?!), end Israeli apartheid stuff, to China/Tibet dispute, to Thailand's issue. Yes, I always see the exact same faces in the photo in the campus newspaper.

After seeing all the photos of this dog from all the Greece riots, I am now convinced that most protests and riots (that resulted from their protests) are run by the same people. This dog must belong to someone who organize this protest, can't be just a random stray dog that always appear in protests.

So yes, I'm convinced that protests&riots are always started by the same people in that region who got nothing better to do than to protest, based on my two examples above. Well, I actually have one more example, but I don't feel like typing anymore...

Drafted.ca Skill Testing Questions

Ricky Romero. People often forget about him and he's buried down under (He was rank 532 in Yahoo O-Rank), but as a good Blue Jays fan, you know Ricky Romero is a much better pitcher than what non-Jays fans ever projected.

Things I Do That Make Me Look Smart Without Knowing It

I haven't blogged in a while, because I really don't know what to write. Right now I'm trying to sleep, but I can't so I decided to blog, so here it is:

Have you ever do something for a really long time and you do it repeatedly, because you think you're doing it right, but not sure why? Then all of the sudden someone else tells you that what you've been doing is RIGHT and s/he tells you why/the mechanism of it AND it makes you feel/look like a genius?

For example: Until a couple of days ago, nobody ever told me the how to use(utilize) a credit card so I don't fall into debt, get a bad credit report, etc. Since I got my credit card (waay back when), I've always paid it in full, never carry debt to the next month. I asked my credit card company to raise my limit like once a year or so, then I also get a second credit card (just because...even though I barely ever used it). I also asked to lower my APR even though I always pay my cc bill in full. I know some people who only pay the minimums of their credit card and they even tell me to only just pay the minimum. I personally think that's a stupid idea. Why do I want to carry those debt over to the next month with such a high interest rate? If you asked me two weeks ago why I do all the stuff I do with my credit card, I would've said "I don't know". Last week, I bought this book called I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. In chapter one, he tells you how to utilize your credit card usage, how credit history and credit ratings work, etc. So it turns out what I have been doing is right! I have been maximizing my credit score. I haven't check what my credit score is this year, hopefully it will be 850 (probably won't though). So chapter one of that book makes me think I'm a genius! lol. I totally recommend you to buy/read this book if you're in your 20s/early 30s. I have read so many different (personal) investing books, but found this one make the most sense for young people. Why? He doesn't tell me to start investing in real estate (I'm in my twenties, why do I wanna spend a huge chunk of my money on real estate, paying property taxes, maintenance, etc if I can invest it in something else--Like a Greek Bond or Iceland CD...haha) and he doesn't tell me to stop spending/cutting back on things that I like (going out for food/drinks/sport events and travel).

Another example is when I picked up Placido Polanco and dropped Miguel Montero (before Montero went to the DL). I already have Joe Mauer as a catcher and Aaron Hill as a second basemen. After Placido's first game with the Phillies, I picked him up right away and drop Miguel Montero and guess what?! Aaron Hill went to the DL after I picked Polanco, Montero got picked up by another guy, but not long after he got pick up off the waiver, Montero went down to the DL and got a knee surgery. Psychic or a genius move?
Jason Frasor blew two save opportunity for the Blue Jays (some other team actually had him as a closer) I decided to pick up Kevin Gregg 3 games before Cito Gaston decided to appoint Kevin Gregg as the closer. HWHAT?!

8 Steps To Make a Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare Episode

Let me start with this: I love Gordon Ramsay. He's a talented chef in the kitchen and he's very entreprenurial as well; you can see it from the many restaurants he has and several different tv shows that you watch on TV.

I've watched Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare for several seasons now. I realized after the first season that almost every single episode follows the same formula/story line, which gets boring after a while. In fact, you can probably make your own episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare. Here's the step by step process:

1. Tell a bit of the restaurant background+meeting restaurant owner(s)
The narrator will tell you a bit of the restaurant background and why the owner thinks they need help. Chef Ramsay walks in to the restaurant to meet the owner(s) during lunch time.

2. Order lunch from the restaurant & insult the food
After meeting the owner of the restaurant, he usually meets the head server to order lunch. Sometimes he ask for recommendation of the restaurant's specialty, sometimes he would just order from the menu. Often, one of the restaurant's biggest mistake is by having such an extensive menu that makes it hard to remember all the menu and make the food not fresh.
After trying the food for the first time, Ramsay would insult the food for being too hard or too mushy because it's over cooked. Other times he would say it taste frozen/not fresh and ask the server if it's fresh or not. Ramsay often Spit out the food, and tell them to bring the next meal. Sometimes he'd ask his server to taste the food before sending it back to the kitchen (not the one he spat on already).
The owner(s)/chef would think he's a jerk for insulting their food.

3. Watch the restaurant do a dinner service
From the first dinner service, they would show how most of these people don't know how to run a kitchen. They falls behind, takes forever to prepare such simple foods. Once the food are out of the kitchen, they're often get sent back because the food is either raw (Ramsay would say: "It's colder than a sushi bar") or burnt.

4. Show how dirty their kitchen and freezer are
There are very few restaurants in the show that have a clean kitchen; Not only their kitchen is dirty, their freezer is disgusting too. Some of the food found in the freezer are really old, and a lot of them are already mouldy. It makes me wonder how clean and fresh are the food that are being served to me at a restaurant.
Depending how dirty it is, Ramsay would stop serving food to the customer for the rest of the night if the freezer is disgusting. He'd make the staff clean the kitchen that night.

5. Having a serious meeting with the owner(s)
Ramsay would identify what the restaurant's problems are and sometimes he would point out some strength the restaurant has.

(optional step): run the restaurant again on the second night, the chef could possibly walk out of the kitchen if s/he can't handle the heat. Sometimes they would come back to the kitchen, sometimes they have to be replaced by a new chef that Ramsay's brought in.

6. Remodel the restaurant+introduce new menu+announce a relaunch of the restaurant
Chef Ramsay brings in his interior crew to renovate the restaurant overnight and supply them with quality kitchen wares. In the morning when the owner(s) and staff comes in, they would say something like this: "Oh my gosh, I can't believe this is really happening. This is much better than anything I could imagine! Thank you so much Chef Ramsay, you're not a jerk afterall!"
After that, they'd proceed to the kitchen and introduce them a new menu that is fresh. There are no longer any frozen food in the menu.
Often, they would go to the city and serve some finger foods to let the city know their restaurant is having a relaunch that night.

7. Relaunch/final dinner service
During the relaunch of the restaurant, the kitchen usually off to a strong start, but then their old habit would kick back in the middle of the service. Chef Ramsay would say some words or two to motivate them. In the end, the kitchen staff make a come back and every one's happy.

8. Goodbyes
After the relaunch service, Ramsay says his goodbyes to the restaurant crew. Tell them to never give up and tell them that he'd come back one day and wanna see them still in business and serving fresh food.

So yea...this is pretty much how every episode of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare goes. If you haven't noticed it before, after reading this, you'd agree with me the next time you watch an episode.

5 Things Twitter Can Improve On

Twitter is cool and all, and if you're reading this chances are you're addicted to Twitter just like me. I usually use Tweetdeck to do all my twitter business, because it organize my Twitter feed in so many wonderful ways. I still go to the Twitter website every now and then to follow new people, searching for old tweets, check out trending topics, etc. However it can get very frustrating navigating the main website. So here's the five things Twitter can improve on.

1. 160 character limits instead of 140
Sometimes when you're out somewhere doing exciting activities and you want to share your experience with your followers. However this activity is too exciting for you to go on the mobile web to access Twitter or access your Tweetdeck, because if you do you'll end up reading your Twitter feed. So you just update your twitter via text message. The standard text message limit is 160 characters instead of the Twitter 140 character limit. Your tweet will get cut off if you're not aware you pass the 140 character limit.

2. Wall-to-wall feature like Facebook
Sometimes you have to dig deep into your friend's twitter page just to find his/her @reply to you. I know you can just type in @(yourownusername) in the search box, but that only shows recent @replies.

3. Mutual followers/followees
This is mostly to eliminate unecessary Follow Friday, especially if they have the same people every week.

4. Search functions to find followers/followees instead of having to go through the whole list of follower/followees
It's very inconvenient to go through the whole list of people you follow just to find one person. Yes, you can type in twitter.com/theirusername in your browser, but that's inconvenient. What if you forgot how to spell their username?

5. Auto-complete for @replies
This is important so people don’t have to memorize how to type their followers’ twitter name. Especially if their twitter handles include alphabets, numeric characters, and underscores.

People exaggerate too much when they're trying to describe something

Example 1: "I'm having a HUGGGGGEEEEE party for my birthday, you should come. It's gonna be fun and lots of people" So we went there to check it out, there were six other people showed up...how is this "HUGGGGGEEEEE"? Regardless...we all still had fun..kinda.

Example 2: Overheard
Person 1: Dude! You missed out an EPIC Saturday night with us last night!
Person 2: Oh yea? What did you guys do?
Person 1: We stayed in, played Call of Duty, then we got bored, went to a corner store to get some beef jerky, their beef jerky were on sale. We also bought some other munchies. On our way there we found $10. Made a detour to grab some...Went back to our place and watched The Cove.
Person 1: Where's the Epic part?
Person 2: We found 10 bucks on our way to the convenient store!

Example 3: Cookies
Person 1: Hey, person 2 just baked us the most amazing cookies I've ever eaten in my life. EVER.
Me: (after I chowed down the cookie) This is pretty good, person 2. How did you make it?
Person 2: Pillsbury. I just put it on a cookie sheet and bake it.

These are just a little examples of exaggeration I get to hear every day. Because of these people, there are a lot of skeptics out there who would questions if a certain fact really is true as described. Yes, I'm one of them. Whenever I hear people describe something to be great, I have to see it myself to believe it. Sometimes you just have to know who you talk to when they describe something to believe them and then adjust your expectation accordingly. This sucks if you just met that person or if you don't know them that well. You can't really expect whether the said things were true or not.

With all the exaggerations people mention, people who don't exaggerate are always frustrated when other people don't believe them because they think they're exaggerating. I don't exaggerate (barely ever); that's why I find it very frustrating when I describe something really awesome and people don't believe me because they think I exaggerate it.
Example 1: One time I met this girl who has MASSIVE boobs that are probably as big as watermelons. I then told a friend about her and he didn't believe me. He thought ok, maybe they're big, but not that big. Until one day he met her himself and he finally believed me and said "I thought you were exaggerating".

Example 2: Summer Concert years ago
Friend: Man, how was the concert last night?
Me: It was super awesome man, I was at the very front, against the barricade from start to finish. Got squished...It was amazing to be that close to the band. Crappy thing was I gotta worked hard to stayed up front from people trying to get to the front and take ove my spot. At the end of the night my clothes got so soaked like someone pushed me into a pool (gross, I know) and my t-shirt got ripped too
Friend: I don't believe you, you can't be that wet
Me: Find, come over to my house and see my clothes from last night if you don't believe me. I still haven't washed it yet.
My friend checked the clothes out himself and finally believe how soaked it was.

So yea...people need to stop exaggerating stuff. It's so annoying when I tell some really cool stuff and they don't believe me because they thought I exaggerate and it's annoying when I don't know you well enough to guess whether you exaggerate stuff or not.

Random Thoughts About Food

If you're living in Toronto and have a little kid, please train them to eat anything and everything from many different ethnic food. Toronto is very rich in terms of ethno-cultural diversity; because of this Toronto has all sorts of delicious ethnic food available for you and your kids to try.

I'm the type of person who love to go out for a nice meal at least once a week. I just have this craving of different ethnic foods every week; sometimes it's Indian, sometimes it's Italian, Chinese, Greek, Carribean, Soul food, etc.

Nothing worse than when you go out with a group of friends and a couple of you wanna eat some tasty jambalaya with blackened cat fish and some sweet potato fries, but there's one person in the group who've never tried these and don't feel advanturous enough to try. So you and your group of friends end up going to Jack Astor's and this person ended up ordering Caesar Salad with grilled chicken while you and your friends get burgers and fries or something like that. Not that there's anything wrong with caesar salad with grilled chicken, but you could make caesar salad with grilled chicken in 15 minutes max at home and how often do you make soul food at home?

So yea, you don't want your kid to be that person who always order chicken caesar salad or chicken fingers and fries at a restaurant. We call them caesar salad or chicken fingers behind their back...or blatantly to their face. HAH!

Raptors Red Party Recap- March 3rd 2010 @MUZIK

The Raptors Red Party is an event hosted by the Raptors and the MLSE Team Up Foundation to raise money for the kids in need. This was my first time going to the Red Party so I didn't know what to expect. I was thinking a sit down dinner, some sort of speech from Brian Colangelo or Coach Triano and Team Up Foundation ED. Nope..I was wrong, none of this happened. It was a mingling party. No dinner, lots of snacks and best of all... FREE BOOZE (didn't expect this either). You read it right, no real dinner and free booze. Can you say messy night? Keep reading to find out my friend.

When my friend Adam and I got there, it was busy, but wasn't too packed yet and there was no music yet. Felt a little bit awkward, we went to the bar for some champagne. I then asked how much is it for a bottle of MGD and whiskey and coke; she told me it's free! Bomb...

We first met Adnan Virk and asked if we could get a picture. He replied: "Yes, of course...hold on, let me get some girls to be in the pictures with us too". How can you not love this guy?

Then I met Eric Smith. I told him that I really appreciate how he try to respond to everyone on Twitter.

and Jack Armstrong. We talked about the ideal playoffs spot for the Raptors for a quite a bit.

We walked around, get some snacks and more drinks, and spotted Nav Bhatia a.k.a. The Raptors Superfan. I asked him if I could get a picture with him. He said yes

As soon as this picture was snapped, I saw Brian Colangelo came out of nowhere RAN towards us and told Adam to get in the picture with Nav as well...

So yea, this pic was taken by Brian Colangelo, The Raptors GM. We then asked BC to be in the picture with us

BC was one of the happiest guy I've seen last night. He walked around talking to people with huge smiles on his face. It's a totally different BC than the one you see on TV.

Then all the players started head towards the dance floor and people start taking pictures with them. I don't remember the exact order of who did I take picture with, so I'm just gonna post the rest of it here.

Finally before my night ended, I got to meet Stackmack who updates you with players' quotes after practice & injury updates and Nat77 from Twitter.

On our way out we got some free swags that consists of a bottle of olive oil, a bag of harvest cheddar Sun Chips, and a coupon for a 12 pack of Coke. This is a totally random mix of swags. The funny thing was I ran out of olive oil two days ago and was supposed to buy one. I don't have to anymore now.

Overall, it was a great experience and I'm quite surprised with all the free booze and the lack of food I got, it didn't turn into a messy night. I've met quite a few new people there as well as the Raptors celebrities. The greatest thing that happened was jamming to Drake with the Raptors players. How often do you get to do that?

Random notes:
-I didn't take a picture with Chris Bosh, because he was swarmed by tonnes of people. He looked exhausted midway through. So I didn't even bother asking him for a picture. I asked him about his ankle and he said it's getting better. Whether he would play on Friday vs. the Knicks, he said he doubt it.
-I didn't see Andrea Bargnani because I think he was sick yesterday and didn't attend practice.
-Hedo was busy entertaining the VIP tables at the back. He looked like he had fun.
-Reggie seemed like he had a great night. Not too many people asked him for his autograph, maybe because he looked quite intimidating. He "box" out even when he's not on the court. Nah...he was nice.
-Hadi's world was a bit of a snob.

Random Gas Pump Encounter

Gas station attendant: It's close for the night, come back tomorrow, you can buy the coupon now though, so it's cheaper because it's combined with your gas.
Me: Ya, sure...Gimme the basic(said this kinda silently)
GSA: Which one you want? The best one?
Me: No, give me the cheapest one.
GSA: I'll give you the best one for only $10
Me: (thinking in my head...That's how much it cost usually) No, give me the cheapest one.

I don't see how paying $3 more is gonna get my car cleaner + stay shiny longer in the winter. I can get one Labatt Blue tall boy and still have $1 extra.

Raptors Vs. Cavaliers Recap Fri, Feb 26 2010

First of all, I want to say thank you to the Raptors for giving away tickets via Twitter. Yesterday, I thought I was going to have a low-key night; stay at home and juggling channels between women's curling gold medal game, The Raptors game, and the men's semifinal hockey game. Turned out I was wrong. The Raptors had a random twitter contest; it was announced like 5 minutes (4:55pm) before the actual contest starts. Luckily I was sitting in front of my computer with my Tweetdeck up and running. At 5 pm, the Raptors asked "Name three players that have played for both the #Cavs and #Raptors. First correct reply gets a pair of tickets to tonight's game at ACC... " That question was so easy compare to Reggie Evans' trivia/tickets giveaway questions. The Raptors announced the winner by 5:05, then I got all the details by 5:10, left by 5:15 to catch the GO bus that leaves about half an hour later. Called my old housemate up to meet me at the ACC.

When I got to the ACC, you wouldn't believe who was waiting in the will-call line in front of me. It was Damon Allen, arguably one of the Toronto Argonauts greatest QBs. He was wearing a toque to keep it in the down low. I was going to say hi and asked for a picture but I didn't, because if I get a picture with him other people in line will start asking who he is and wanting their picture taken too and it's not like he has anywhere else to escape, because he still need to get his tickets. So when he turned around and looked at me I gave him the Man Nod.

Got my ticket and I eagerly checked where I'm going to be sitting; Section 307 Row 1 Seat 14 and 15, not bad! I love sitting in the corner area, you can see everything from there.

Here's Reggie Evans layin the ball. Last night was his best offensive game this season.

The Raptor and little Raptors pied a guy who's wearing a Lebron James' jersey in the face (obviously planted), great in game entertainment.

The ACC was quite loud in the fourth quarter; it gave me the playoff-game feeling. I also love the fact that 4Korners play Pump It Up by Danzel at the beginning of the fourth quarter; that song makes me fist pumping like a champ every time I hear it! I was so glad no one attempted to do the wave like that Saturday game against the Wizards.

I was so happy when the raptors tied the game at 111 (I think) and the Raptors called a time out for their last play. It must have been a really tough decision to call a play. Should you go attack the basket for the easy two and potentially draw a foul for a three point play OR to shoot it from downtown. They really did need a three-point play, because LeBron or AP are capable of nailing threes for a buzzer beater. I wasn't so happy after the time out when I saw Hedo handled the ball. I was saying this "No, not Hedo...Why coach? Give the last play to Jarrett Jack or someone else". Turned out I was right Hedo took a really bad three pointer, a very poor shot selection. I wouldn't care as much if he shot a clean three pointer (foot planted, etc), but the Cavs guard him quite tight last night and he could've just drove the ball to the basket and draw a foul like he did against the Lakers. That last play was really sloppy. The ball didn't go in, Cleveland called a timeout with one second left in the game clock. Ex-Raptor AP took the final shot for Cleveland but he didn't drain the ball. Overtime. The crowd went nuts.

I made a new friend during that 4th quarter/overtime break. This girl in sec 307 row 1 seat 13 shot a video and asked me how this game gonna end. I told her the Raptors could win this if they play tight defense and not allowing easy buckets in the paint. She then asked "they could win...but will they win it?" Then I told her that The Raptors WILL win the game.
OT started, Mo Williams scored first with two quick three pointers. My prediction was totally wrong, it wasn't really their defense that troubled them in the OT; it was their offense. The Raptors ran out of gas, it was really sad. Andrea Bargnani couldn't seemed to find the basket and the rest of the Raptors offense looked very disorganized.

At the end of the game, the girl in seat 13 recorded a video again and asked me "so what happened? I thought you said the Raptors would win this game?" I told her that the raps ran out of gas.

Although they probably lost because I jinxed them prior to the overtime just like how I jinxed Cheryl Bernard in her gold medal game by saying she has the gold medal in the bag already.

Tufts University start accepting YouTube videos as a supplement from its applicants this year. About 1,000 out of 15,000 applicants submitted a YouTube video supplement; some of them are very nicely edited, some of them look like they have been edited by me. The New York Times have nicely compiled a bunch of these applicants videos. Check it out yourself here. Make sure you watch Betty Quinn's video application. That's the best one. She probably aced her media studies class.

With the technology that are available today, I'm sure there are a lot of other universities and colleges that would follow Tufts University's footstep. I could also see companies accepting video resume from their applicants since most of job applications are done online. This could potentially gives the organization a better judgement before giving applicants an interview.

What do these mean for YouTube? According to one of YouTube's well known users, Mr Chi City who exposed how YouTube generate their revenues, YouTube are actually losing money from casual YouTube users. Everytime a video is uploaded and not getting enough viewers, all it does is costing money for YouTube; they have to get a bigger servers to store these videos. Raptors Vs. Wizards Recap

On Tuesday night @adamtheunlikely said he has an extra ticket to the Raptors game on Saturday night (Basketball Night in Canada). Without hesitation, I told him that I'd go with him.

Met up with Adam at Gate 1 at the ACC. We then went to the Centre Sports to trade in my old purple and green Ray Allen jersey that I've never worn. I don't even remember how I got that jersey; I've never worn it either. Centre Sports have this program that if you trade in your old jersey (it can be any pro-sports jersey), you would get 30% off your next jersey purchase. Your old jersey would be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Canada. This offer valid until the end of February. I ended up getting a Rasho Nesterovic black jersey; it's mint.

Before we head to our seat, we stopped by Gate 5 and said hi to Raptorspace Kat. We then took a picture of the three of us; Yup, that's me wearing my white Roko Ukic jersey. Too bad Roko is not even playing in the NBA anymore. Oh, Kat grew a couple of inches since the last time I saw her...nah she just got her high heels on, no black mini-skirts though(if you know what I'm talking about here, you've been listening to a lot of crappy music).

The first half of this game was really good offensively. Defensively it was pretty bad, considering The Wizards just got a lot of new players in their team via trade. The third quarter was bad. The Raptors lost the lead and played like their typical third quarter effort. They came back in the fourth quarter, played some clutch defense (Andrea Bargnani), Jarrett Jack took over the game by attacking the rim. Hedo got rid of his mask. Antoine Wright made some really important buckets for the Raptors. I wonder whatever happens to Marco Belinelli. I haven't seen him play in the last two games.

The crowd was pretty loud at the ACC last night. I lost my voice from cheering on the Raps. It was quite an emotional game. At one point the crowd at the ACC did the wave when the Raptors were down. Went around like three times. I didn't do the wave, because the Raptors did not have a blowout (they weren't even leading). Whoever started it was a tool; probably the same guy who started the wave when The Jays are down and it's the Jays turn to pitch. SMH.

I wish 4Korners would play the intro of Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes during some critical time in the fourth quarter. That would really pumps the crowd and give everyone goosebumps.

I think that's about it... I'm outta here, gonna chow down this free pizza I got from The Raptors :)

Raptors Red Party

The Raptors Red Party is going to be held on March 3rd this year at Muzik. The party will give you a chance to mingle with the Raptors players, coaches, and management, all in support of the MLSE Team Up Foundation which helps disadvantaged youth in priority neighbourhoods by giving, building, teaching and growing.

I have been wanting to go for the past three years but couldn't, because that's usually a busy time for university students and none of my friends want to spend $250 for a ticket. So who's going to The Red Party this year?

Do you remember those old school video games you used to play in computer class back in junior high/high school; when your teacher teach you how to use MS Office and you know all that stuff already? Yea, I'm talking about the helicopter game, curve ball, pacman, snake, pong, etc from addicting games or ebaumsworld. Whatever happens to ebaumsworld anyway, haven't visited that site in a long time.

Well, I found this website that has most of the classic flash games; it's called WhipFlash Games. It bring back a lot of memories, not to mention a pretty good site to kill time too.

I was just browsing some site and somehow got to this site that sell a product called Potty Putter. Why do this product even exist? I do love playing golf, but practicing my putting skills in the bathroom while I do my biz is probably the last thing I wanna do. Why do you want to spend more time in the crapper than you have to? Apparently you can have this product for only $19.95+tax. You can get 10 Labatt Blue tall boys with that money.

I have been on and off blogging for quite a while now. I deleted all of my old blogs because mostly I didn't like the design, the name of the blog, etc. This one would focus mostly on sports, but not limited to it. I would post a lot of interesting links/videos I found, write a review on them and then share it with you.

This blog would probably be the extension of my twitter account, because sometimes 140 characters ain't enough.

Finally, this first post would be dedicated to: "Ball"...I have nothing else to say.
